Nomination of Handmade Glass production submitted to the Unesco headquarters in Paris

On Wednesday, March 30 2022, the nomination of HANDMADE GLASS to the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity was submitted to the UNESCO headquarters in Paris. It was professionally sponsored by our museum on behalf of the Czech Republic, the text itself was created in the National Nature Museum in Rožnov pod Radhoštěm, under the wonderful leadership of dr. Eva Kumínková, and everything under the supervision of the Ministry of Culture. The Czech Republic collaborated on the project and is submitting it together with glassmakers from France, Finland, Germany, Hungary and Spain. A decision on possible registration will be made next year at the earliest.

We believe that a possible entry on the prestigious UNESCO list will deepen the deserved respect for the glass craft and bring the necessary moral support and real interest and help to society in economically difficult times to Czech glassmakers and their foreign colleagues.
